STYLE INSPIRATION: BLAKE LIVELY IN PLAYSUIT

I've been doing an article titled 'Get the Look' for Hello! Indonesia for as long as I'm there. And long before Hello! I've been working on 'Wear It Like an It Girl' on my Polyvore. So might as well I pour all of my knowledge here as well.

This article will feature one of FHAB by Bonjep's most wanted playsuit, The Ditzy Purple. I wear it to the beach and to the mall. Our It Girl, Blake Lively apparently is a fan of playsuit as well. So here it goes, enjoy the guide of how to wear a playsuit like Blake!

FASHION NEWS: Indonesia Online Fashion Shop Doing Offline

http://shoppingwithjuan.com/online-shopping-offline-shopping.html

Hello Readers,

How are you this Monday? Will you hate me if I told you how I love Monday?
Yes, I feel lucky to be doing what I'm doing because it made me look forward to another day, another week, and another month ahead! Because for me it's all work and play at once and yes blogging is considered part of the job too :)

Today I'm going to share you some thoughts on Indonesia's online offline fashion scene, now that I'm part of the industry. My brand FHAB by Bonjep has been consistently participating in local fashion brand offline events and so far we've participated in 5 events within the past 5 months of its existence. On average it's one event a month or so and I'm taking these kind of events seriously because I think it's important for an online shop brand to be present among your target market, create an awareness. More about target market on Wiki here. Well of course you can always place an advertisement and the target audience may eventually arrive on your website but will they buy? One of the hurdles being an online shop brand is that your customer can't touch, feel, see, and try your products. It is the biggest hesitation for online shoppers to shop online especially for a new established brand that is somewhat pricey (will discuss about price impact later).

You can consider events as a media for you to try out which of your products are selling and which are not. Well of course it depends on the type of events you're participating and the captured audience there. Therefore I suggest to try as many type of events to get more variety in captured audience to see if there's a market for each of your products (luckily for me, almost all my products sell well :)). Direct interactions with your potential customers also help in brand building. You can tell them your stories, what makes you different, what's your unique selling proposition, and so on. In addition, you get to know their insights, what they like about your products, what they need, what they're looking for, and see if you can fulfill those. And what else you can build from interacting with your customers? Database! They're valuable!

Some events may also have advertising potential if they are supported by the media. Media participation and support may result into coverage, traffic, and hopefully sales! Now besides value that generated by sales, you get media value! The most powerful tool to sell is word. Combined the words properly then you have a story and the right story gets the 'talkability' value. Don't underestimate the word of mouth because it is by far one of the most convincing tools! You can sell even without putting an ads. How? By word of mouth. People talk, they always do. Testimonials and recommendations are the other ways to create sales. That's why endorsement (the act of endorsing) is getting too popular these day. Online shop brands are competing to have famous celebrities or evangelist for their products. But hey it sells!

In summary, what are the offline events do for your brand?
1. Awareness. New brands need to raise awareness in their initial stage.
2. Brand Image. Time to build the proposition, USP, and values of your brand.
3. Insights. New brands get the experience by direct interactions with their customers.
4. Database. Your customers profile and their preference.
5. Sales. Of course. It's not just the margin or bottom line that matters but for new brands the cashflows or top line is equally important.

What else could you think of?

STYLE INSPIRATION: Spring Break

TGIF!

Thank God it's FHABulous Friday! How's everyone's second week in the first month of second quarter? How's study? Work? Slow, satisfied, or stressful already? If you're feeling like you need a little break, well I suggest a sunny place to gleam up a bit! Who would refuse a little touch of sand on your feet, ocean breeze on your skin, and beautiful sun rays? I won't! My holiday is coming soon, 2 weeks soon to be exact! I'm going to somewhere with sun, sea, and sand! And it'll be fab because I'll bring my new FHAB collections with me! Pssst... a little clue, I will have the relaunch of Sakura & Chloris for the upcoming high Summer collection. And it's even softer and bolder at the same time. Curious?

Now, speaking of Spring times.. I named one dress Chloris, taken from Greek mythology which is a name of Goddess of flowers that is associated with spring. In my head Chloris made a sweet seducing sigh so I translate that into a high low sheer dress with floral pattern in Ochre color, the color of earth where the flower grows on. More on Chloris explanation on Wiki here.

Customers asked me on how to wear Chloris, well I assure you that it is wearable in daily basis with the right mix and match. But for now, I will share you the inspiration on wearing Chloris to the beach! Oooh..by the way, the dress is on discount now, it's Rp 22rb cheaper! Visit here.

STYLE INSPIRATION: How to Wear this Narcissus Sakura

Good day Sunday!

How are you spending your weekends? However it is I assure you that Narcissus Sakura, as a hybrid between top & dress is suitable for many occasions.

If you wonder what to wear it with? Don't worry because I've provided some options for you. Now I'm sure you have basic items such as t shirt, tank top, short, or skirt? Or the little black dress? Well good news, because all of them are wearable with Narcissus Sakura :) In fact, you can dress it up according to your mood with the simple rules of layering!

1. Lazy?
There are times when you don't really want to care how and what to look like. You need to go out and you can't really bother to think of what to wear or how to dress your hair besides the ponytail. This Narcissus Sakura is here to help you brighten up your appearance. Just simply wear it over your shirt / tank  and short / skirt pair it with a flip-flop and you're set!

2. Sexy?
When you feel like you're ready to rock the world.. just find  a bustier / tube pair it with short skirt / tights. You don't need too many just mini. Loosen up your hair, get some curls, and bold lipstick. Complete the look with heels.

3. Classy?
Now you don't want to be too flashy. Simple and elegant is the key. Go grab that little black dress of yours that's hanging in the closet and wear it under! Chin up, chignon up (do) too! Wear that mini purse or clutch and you're all good.

4. Please don't perve me?
Ok ladies. For you that don't like to show skin at all..good news is that you can actually wear a long sleeved shirt under! Then wear your jeans / legging / jegging. Oh, and a wedge? Kudos! Dress up your hair in turban would do too.

BLOGGING TIPS: Personal Branding Tips from the Founder of Indonesia Unite

Lately, I've been checking out blogs from Indonesia .. one of the purposes is to learn from the fast growing blogs in content-wise. Then I stumbled upon this article I found on leonisecret.com (it's in Bahasa) which contains Leoni's powerful note on personal branding.

"The essence on personal branding is differentiation and capability. According to Leoni, personal branding is not merely politically branding or selling yourself. Personal branding talks about how someone complete themselves with unique selling point. Personal branding is not how to maintain your image. It's not table manner. What's needed is your uniqueness but not just plain you"

"So how to create it? Positioning strategy is a must. Where is our capability lie and where are the competitors position. Strengthen the core competence with consistency and authenticity. People will see what we do, not just what we talk about" said Leoni.

A little about her, she was the one behind #indonesiaunite and #aksisosialindonesiaunite that was founded during earthquake in Padang few years back. Totally inspiring!

As for this blog, I will share the positioning in another post.

Japan has always been my fashion mecca and I'm loving their street style especially the Gothic Lolita look. Here's my impression of Japanese Gothic Lolita that you can wear daily! Black is the most worn color for this style, even though pink is also an alternative for more girly look. Lace is an important part of the detail and that Vivienne Westwood platform shoes is to die for!

Here's one of the example on body con combination for a night out. Tips: leave the dress to speak for itself, minimize the accessories and leave your statement necklace at home.
